Whalers Win State Title

The Nantucket High School Whalers varsity boys lacrosse completed its tournament run with 7-6 win over rival Sandwich for the Division 4 championship. Crowds of local boosters met the team as it arrived back on the island Saturday at the Hy-Line, with more fans in groups lining Main Street for an impromptu celebration. This win is a historic first state championship for the boys lacrosse program and the first state championship for any Nantucket sports team in 13 years.
