Fun on the Fourth

Tuesday's Fourth of July festivities began at Children's Beach with music and a Nanpuppets show on the bandstand, as well as a bike parade and old-fashioned games like tug-of-war and a three-legged race. Crowds then migrated to Main Street for the annual water competition between the Nantucket Fire Department and the Boynton Lane Reserves. The fireworks show started at 9 pm from barges in the waters off Jetties Beach.
