Celebrations of Monday's Juneteenth holiday on Nantucket began with a guided tour of the Historic Colored Cemetery, alongside Mill Hill Park, led by Nantucket historian Barbara White. A community gathering followed at the African Meeting House on Nantucket with Noelle Trent, president and CEO of the Museum of African American History. A cookout capped off the day at Nobadeer Farm Road playing fields, featuring games, crafts for kids, music, and food by Snick Snack food truck. The events were in collaboration between Town of Nantucket, Museum of African American History, Nantucket Cultural District, Nantucket Historical Association, and Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce.
