The exhibit Tony Sarg: Genius at Play opened at the Whaling Museum on Friday for the coming summer season. It's the first comprehensive exhibition exploring the life, art, and adventures of Tony Sarg. Born in 1880, Sarg is considered the father of modern puppetry, but his artistic skills ranged beyond that to include design, illustration, and animation. He's the creator of the traditional balloons of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The exhibit was organized by the Normal Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in partnership with the Nantucket Historical Association.
