BBQ, Bocce and Bluegrass

Nantucket’s Almanack Arts Colony welcomed fans and families for an evening of barbecue, bluegrass music, and friendly bocce competition. The event was a family affair—kids enjoyed bubbles, hula hoops, puppets, and a sing-along, while adults sipped on beer and wine courtesy of Cisco Brewers and participated in a bocce tournament featuring dozens of teams. Winners of the tournament received cash prizes, gift certificates, and bocce sets.

BBQ, Bocce, and Bluegrass, now in its seventh year, is Almanack Arts Colony’s main fundraiser to support the organization’s mission in “helping artists and arts organizations flourish outside the confines of the commercial world through residences, performances, and retreats.” The evening was produced by Peter Martin, who created the event and served as the tournament director, Randy Hudson of Cisco Brewers, Chris Holmes, Callie Kever, Caleb Cressman, and chef Chris Morris.
